LUIS SEGURA
Spanish artist born in Novelda (Alicante) on January 18, 1980. Since childhood he has shown an early inclination and facility for drawing that his family enhanced in his adolescence by visiting the best museums throughout the country. He thus begins, at a very early age, to become familiar with and fall deeply in love with the world of art. Although his artistic abilities are evident, he finally decides to direct his studies towards Landscaping and Natural Resources, dedicating himself professionally in his youth to the design and creation of gardens and green areas. At 28 years of age, he decides to make a change in his life and moves to live in Valdelinares, in the province of Teruel. The exuberance, color and lushness of the landscapes of this beautiful area of Spain impact the artist. With a much calmer and more leisurely life, and invited by an almost idyllic environment unaltered by the hand of man, the artist dedicates a good part of his time to walking through beautiful landscapes, to observing and experiencing their marked seasonal cycles, to feeling the rhythm, colors and life in the middle of Nature. This experience reborn in him his great passion for drawing and painting since childhood. From the beginning he opted for the oil painting technique, which allows him to give more texture and nuances to his works. In his early paintings, he likes to experiment with making color gradations in figures or landscapes. The artist titles this series of paintings "Essays." With them he learns to work better with paint and to create color mixtures. Without a doubt it is a vital stage for Luis' learning and artistic development. Over time, little by little his works become more complicated by adding more details to the drawing but, above all, the main protagonist is always color.Totally absorbed by the beauty that surrounds him and connected with his two great passions: painting and Nature, the artist begins his new, most creative and prolific stage as a painter. In his works, a realistic style with texture and safe, loose brushstrokes stands out. He transports the fullness of natural landscapes to each of his works, showing the small details of it, highlighting its chromatic diversity and visual strength. The artist seeks to transmit in his works what he himself experiences in each of his walks: to awaken in the observer feelings and emotions of calm and peace often forgotten, the connection with what is essential, with ourselves.
