His oil paintings, generally landscapes, are of exceptional technical quality.
Simone Fappanni writes about him: «Mario Tosi's style is configured as a very personal realism, with a clear poetic-evocative tone, which makes use of a meticulous and extremely careful definition of the subject. Every detail, even minimal, is not neglected, so much so that the resulting images awaken a truly particular transport. Despite this attention to detail, we are not faced, as it would be legitimate to assume, a typically hyper-realistic experience with cursive or merely didactic inclinations. On the contrary, Mario Tosi's art possesses the gift of lyricism and purity, through which everything becomes alive and pulsating, capable of transmitting emotions that leave a deep mark on the mind of the observer ”.
His artistic activity has been reviewed in important national and foreign magazines and newspapers.
