Enrique Pastor

Spanish artist born in Madrid in 1953 who had the privilege of having a teacher close to him, his own father's, also a winning artist of bullfighting themes and dedicated to that same artistic expression. He developed his pictorial personality as of 1995, fully entering to capture the secrets of the images of the National Bullfighting Festival, astonishing by the great acceptance of the artistic critics and the public in the last exhibition in Barcelona.

With the attention always ready to observe the bullfighting and with the desire to propose the composition through the closest and direct beauty of the great bullfighting masters such as Curro Romero, Rafael de Paula, César Rincón, Emilio Muñoz and El Soro. They are some of the models that inspired the most widespread works of him in some moments of the fight.

The rich wealth of it collects a historical and aesthetic present together; that is, he can show the development of bullfighting with examples taken in direct vision in the squares and cattle fields.

His technique is projected mainly through the oil painting technique, without forgetting other materials such as acrylic, pastel or watercolor.

Between the years 1962 to 1968 he was summoned by the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas to make his bullfighting posters. Over the years, he obtains many other distinctions in the various galleries in which he has exhibited his work. More than fifteen solo exhibitions define his continued progress. Constancy and presence with his currency in the games of color, where the pictorial dynamisms of bullfighting, reason and the way of his painting are shuffled.

The relief that he achieves in the vibrant fights of the fight has a delicate continuity with the country scenes, in which the landscape is perfectly combined with the cattle, the horsemen and the interpreters of the store.

“… By the hand of the painter, his palette adds light and color as a contribution of aesthetic subjectivity, as his own creation to the creation of bullfighting, to which the plastic artist subordinates himself to illustrate it, that is Pastor's merit. We fans needed such a painter. With his modesty, with his chromatic quality "
